GCS Fall Sports Final Update

Congratulations to our Girls JV and Varsity Volleyball and Boys Soccer Teams who completed their seasons this past weekend at the North Carolina Christian Athletic Association (NCCAA) State Tournament in Greenville.  The Tournament was hosted by Trinity Christian School and our athletes made us very proud in the way they represented both God and Gramercy.

Our JV Girls Volleyball Team, coached by Robert North and Jay Klosterman, were the Regular NCCAA Southern Division Champions and NCCAA State Tournament Champions.  Our boys Varsity Soccer Team, coached by Robert Hardin and Jeff Tyree, took 3rd place at the State Tournament and won the Christian Character Award.  Our Girls Varsity Volleyball, coached by Robert North and Jay Klosterman, were the Regular Season NCCAA Division Champions and NCCAA State Tournament Champions.

If you missed the excitement, our Varsity Girls Volleyball Team led Gramercy to a nail-biting win over Victory Christian Academy in the final moments of a game that had a gym full of Gramercy fans on the edges of our seats.  It was a joyful victory, full of celebration, and especially priceless to our two Senior players, Carly Proctor and Victoria Timmins.

Many Gramercy players also won individual awards:

Volleyball All-State Team:  Lynn North, Ella Taylor and Macie Williams

Volleyball All-Tournament Team:  Carly Proctor, Kaitlyn Lieske, Emma Klosterman

Volleyball Tournament MVP:  Lynn North

Soccer All-State Team:  Joey Hardin, Micah Williams

Soccer All-Tournament Team:  Andrew Lawrence, Charlie Young

Being an athlete at Gramercy is especially challenging. Students are not only keeping up with a demanding schedule of classes and homework, they often travel substantial distances to play other conference schools.  We know both students and parents make enormous sacrifices of time to ensure Gramercy has team rosters that are full of eligible athletes.  Thank you for your commitment to GCS.  We are so proud of these student-athletes!
